I thought I’d celebrate May by giving away my first Ep Mole in the Ground for download. The company that manufactured them went under a long while ago and it has only been available for streaming on CBC Radio 3 for six or more years now. I still play most of the songs. It was recorded in three sweet hours in Halifax at the legendary Mullet studio. It was the winter after I returned to the East Coast from Dawson City Yukon where most of the songs were written over the winter of 2002. It was recorded at the urging of longtime friends Al Tuck and Charles Austin. It’s Al’s entrance to the studio that resulted in Yodelady’s intro of “Grandpa Burger?” because of the lunch he was finishing at his arrival. It’s a very simple demo that my wife Teresa did the artwork for. It was a local sensation that was encouraging enough to land me in the soup I’m in now. Hope you enjoy downloading and sharing it around. Feel free to buy my 2 Juno winning albums and Hinterland at all the dwindlingly usual places and shows. Happy Spring.
