Old Man Luedecke wins 2011 Juno Award for Best Roots and Traditional Album Solo!
Chester, Nova Scotia based singer songwriter Old Man Luedecke won the 2011 Juno Award for Best Roots and Traditional Album Solo this weekend in Toronto for his most recent recording, “My Hands Are On Fire and Other Love Songs,”. For the second consecutive CD release, Old Man Luedecke has been awarded the Juno Award in this prestigious category by his peers in the music business. Old Man Luedecke was not able to attend the awards ceremony as he was in Texas performing.
For the second consecutive CD release, Old Man Luedecke has been nominated for a Juno Award.
The Chester-based banjo player is nominated in the Roots and Traditional Album of the Year: Solo Category for his album “My Hands Are On Fire and Other Love Songs,”.
It is the same award he won in 2009 for his album “Proof of Love.”
This year’s Juno Awards are scheduled for Toronto on March 27.

2009 Juno Award winner from Chester, Nova Scotia, Old Man Luedecke has had quite a year. Whether it is finding his name as a solution to a clue in The National Post Crossword, being nominated for three CBC Radio 3 Bucky Awards, having his concerts broadcast on the national airwaves, or being asked to participate in the upcoming National Parks Project, Old Man Luedecke has been busy since releasing his acclaimed fourth release My Hands are on Fire and other Love Songs earlier this year. With Australian, European and U.S. tour dates coming up in early 2011, he will now venture west from Nova Scotia for one more set of Canadian dates before 2010 winds down. To celebrate Old Man Luedecke is offering up a free download of the CBC Radio 3 Bucky Award nominated song “Foreign Tongue”
