2009 Juno Award winner from Chester, Nova Scotia, Old Man Luedecke has had quite a year. Whether it is finding his name as a solution to a clue in The National Post Crossword, being nominated for three CBC Radio 3 Bucky Awards, having his concerts broadcast on the national airwaves, or being asked to participate in the upcoming National Parks Project, Old Man Luedecke has been busy since releasing his acclaimed fourth release My Hands are on Fire and other Love Songs earlier this year. With Australian, European and U.S. tour dates coming up in early 2011, he will now venture west from Nova Scotia for one more set of Canadian dates before 2010 winds down. New Album

January 18, 2010

On March 30th (Canada) and March 16 (America), Old Man Luedecke will release the follow up to his Juno Award-winning album “Proof Of Love”. Entitled “My Hands Are On Fire and Other Love Songs” and recorded largely “live off the floor ” in Vancouver , this album brings a unique band sound to Old Man Luedecke’s timeless material. The album also features bluegrass legend Tim O’Brien on every song and once again pairs Old Man Luedecke with award-winning producer Steve Dawson, who has produced all 3 of his releases so far.

Juno!

June 8, 2009

That’s right, Proof of Love won the Juno for best Roots Traditional solo album of the year. The ladies at the Chester post office are pretty excited to get that package coming through the office. me too.

I’m laying a little low right now trying to write songs for a new album that I’ll record in the fall to be released sometime next year.

Watch for a bicycle tour of Nova Scotia in the fall too.

July 6, 2008

hey I’m coming to Alberta after all this summer — next week! coming to South country fair and a show in canmore and calgary. Hope to see you. Thanks so to all you who’ve been showing such love and support for my music lately–

oh and I had my first ever Sauna (sawoona) bath on the weekend at Kate Maki’s during the Northern Lights fest in Sudbury. Had a really magical time there wobbling towards the lake with Kate and Nathan Lawr and the Great Lake Swimmers. Thanks Kate and Nate!
